Holiday in Alicante

Me in front of the hotel Hello Alicante! It is my third day in wonderful Alicante with mum and grandma. The Friday after the graduation we took a late noon flight for six days with sun and 30+ degrees. I can’t complain! Mum found a reasonable priced hotel room at a four star hotel just a short walk to the beach and the city centre. We have spent the days walking around (an average of 18 000 steps a day!), laying on the beach (not so much at the pool) and dancing a good three hours last night to Spanish music. My big challenge as a newly born dietitian is the crap here that they call food. Everything is fast food, greasy, tasteless, pricey (!!) and there is not a single vegetable or fiber containing item in sight. I/we solved this by going to a supermarket and buy a bowl, cup and spoon, and bran sticks, milk and fruit. I also bought pumpernickel bread for me, and yummy tuna in tomato paste and some noodles as an emergency for those late night cravings instead of fries on the way home. Some super-spicy chilly gets to go on everything. And of course carrots and some other veggies too. I figured out I ought to get about 22 grams of fiber a day minimum eating my own breakfast and lunch/night meal and also save 20 Euros a day. It’s a win-win for me :) . I wonder what the room attendant thinks of us, considering that we have filled the fridge until its bursting point he he.
