Learning programming from the start

learning programming from the start As I told you a few weeks ago, I am going back to school to become a software developer. School starts in a month and a half and I want to be well prepared. I am a newbie to programming, I can make websites but that is about it. But I like the idea of starting fresh, with no preconceptions or feeling like I already know everything. It makes you more humble, and therefore more open towards learning, and hopefully will help me learn everything the right way from the start- because there are many bad ways to go about it when it comes to programming. I am in particularly interested in system development, but I probably until next year. I got a few books recommended to get me started with programming and I will post my progress as I finish the exercises in the books. When school comes I will also let you know how I go, what I have learned and how it feels and so on. It was hard to find any information about how to learn programming from scratch, and how it is to learn programming. So, under the tag beginning programming you can follow my journey from beginner to pro. Have fun… I know I will ;) The books I was recommended are:

  • Microsoft Visual C# 2010 Step by Step [With CDROM] av John Sharp
  • Beginning ASP.NET 4 in C# 2010 av Matthew MacDonald

I am going to start with Microsoft Visual C# 2010 Step by Step
