Stupid question 38: Does Windows Phone 8 support Javascript apps?

[To celebrate my first year of programming I will ask a ‘stupid’ questions daily on my blog for a year, to make sure I learn at least 365 new things during my second year as a developer]

Windows Phone 8

Continuing on the Windows Phone 8 questions I had a new one yesterday, will javascript apps be supported like they do on Windows 8? Since the SDK isn’t out yet as you might have read in my previous question we don’t know for sure and WP MVP’s can’t disclose this information. Believe me I sure tried hard to get an answer :D

But, according to the leaked SDK earlier this summer the answer is no!

A couple of devs confirmed that on twitter, but we might have read the same few articles, based on the same leaked SDK - so there is a fair chance it’s not true. I was quite surprised, and a bit confused, and I do hope that this will change. For now we will just have to wait and see….
