Soft reset on Nokia Lumia 920 - Phone wont take and save images

I had the strangest problem with my Nokia Lumia 920 yesterday. I was listening to some music through the Nokia music application that comes with the pone, and I was listeneing to the radio. At some point I accidentally hit ‘buy’ on a song and I was prompted to log in and purchase the song. I tried the back button, nothing happened. I tried closing the phone. Nothing. I couldn’t make the ‘buy’ screen go away, and there was no cancel button. I waited for the phone to ‘sleep’ and as soon as I had a black screen I tried to start the phone again, without any luck. I had to do a soft reset.

You do a soft reset by holding down the volume button and the power button for 10 seconds or so. The phone vibrates and the Nokia screen comes on.

While everything is still there, the date and time is changed to default settings. This can cause quite a few problems, I can’t order SMS tickets on the tram, log into certain accounts, or take photos.

That’s right. You can’t take and save photos if the date and time is wrong. Don’t ask me why, but I thought it was worth sharing this in case you have the same problem. I’m going to see if I can reproduce the Nokia Music problem, and if I can I will contact support and let them know. I’m not sure it is the app, and I am missing a few updates.

There is a setting so you get the date and time from your cellphone carrier.
So if you have to make a soft reset, after a couple of seconds you will have the correct date and time form the carrier.

Unfortunately that doesn't seem to work for me, and I've had this problem each time I've done a soft reset :( But thank you for sharing that, hopefully I've gotten a bad device :)

That's really odd isn't it? If it knows the time is wrong, then it must know the correct time, so why doesn't it just use the correct time?!?!? How very frustrating for you.
