Iris Classon
Iris Classon - In Love with Code

I've been awarded as Microsoft MVP - C#

So, yeah. What do I say? I’m frankly still in shock and waited out Aprils Fools day just in case it was a (bad) joke. But it’s for real. Sitting here, I can’t believe I’m typing these words,- I am extremely happy and excited about the future- more than I have been in a very long time. When I started programming I fell in love, literally I fell in love. And everyday since I’ve had butterflies in my stomach as I watch Visual Studio (slowly- sometimes VERY slowly) open up my project. Or whatever IDE, heck, even xcode gets some love from me.

I watch people on the tram, on the buss, everywhere, (Note: not in a creepy way) holding their phones, slates, phablets, tablets and computers, for them those are mysterious companions that go with them everyday, for me it’s my way of being part of a bigger thing. It feels like I’m in peoples devices, and it feels like nothing is impossible. I dream code, eat code (but drink anything with caffeine).

I brainstorm with friends, we talk about the What’s and I try to think out How’s- while my calendar pretty much decides the When’s.

And I can’t imagine a day when I won’t be this excited and this fascinated by what can be achieved by those little words we put together, be that an actual conversation or code.

This award means a lot to me, only those very close to me really know how much time, effort and passion I’ve put into sharing my love for programming never with an award or title in mind, and seeing that a new developer like me can be a MVP is an important message I am more than happy to take part of. And I’ll continue to do what I’ve being doing and more, because I love this. I really do. And I’m having so much fun, and you- I honestly really love meeting people like you. All the conversations, be that deep discussions, sharing LOL’s, getting help or feedback via Skype or arguing over misunderstood tweets or different opinions. I’ve enjoyed that a lot. So thank you!

Somewhere in Sweden a girl with bright pink hair, a very happy developer indeed, is very excited about the future, and in Norway somewhere a mum and dad will be very proud an a sister in Australia will be very happy.

I will of course celebrate this with gym, taco and a Stupid Question :)

Kudos to you! As someone who's applied before (and turned down :<), I personal know how hard it is to get award that prestigious status/title! Congrats and keep it up! Our local MVPs are truly exception people/devs and they love to share, just like you on your blog. Kudos!
